“The OaK Architecture: A Vision”
Watch the Talk
About This Talk
In this keynote, Rich Sutton presents his vision for the OaK (Objects and Knowledge) architecture, an ambitious framework for building intelligent agents that learn and reason about the world through structured representations. The talk explores how agents can acquire knowledge through interaction with their environment while maintaining interpretable and modular internal representations.
About the Speaker
Richard S. Sutton is a professor of Computing Science at the University of Alberta, a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, and a fellow of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI). He is the co-author of the widely used textbook "Reinforcement Learning: An Introduction" and one of the founders of the field of reinforcement learning as it is known today.
His research has focused on temporal-difference learning, policy gradient methods, and the Dyna architecture for integrating learning and planning. He is a recipient of the IJCAI Award for Research Excellence and the IEEE Neural Network Pioneer Award.
